Interactive workshops designed to take the guesswork out of mental wellness for schools, workplaces, and local groups. Trainings are available virtually all across the US or locally in Savannah, TN

IN2K ("I Need to Know") is a suicide prevention training program specifically designed for tattoo artists. This vital mental wellness education helps tattoo artists establish the skills to recognize warning signs of suicide in their clients. By forming close relationships based on trust and open communication, tattoo artists are uniquely positioned to offer supportive assistance.
The truth is that everyone has connections and should support their friends. The IN2K program offers valuable training not just to tattoo artists, but to anyone interested in helping others. Through interactive sessions, participants learn to observe changes in behavior, listen empathetically, and ask direct questions like, "Are you thinking about killing yourself?" IN2K equips tattoo artists with the tools they need to respond kindly and nonjudgmentally, fostering a safe environment for those in need.
By encouraging individuals to reach out to clients, coworkers, friends, family, and the wider community, we can cultivate a network of caring people dedicated to saving lives and advancing mental wellness education. The mission is to promote understanding and inspire action to save lives. As the saying goes, "It Takes a Village"—say it 1000 times and it remains true.

IN2K was founded by Patrick and Suanna Cummings of A Beautiful Mind, both of whom have faced the profound pain of losing someone to suicide and the subsequent challenge of moving forward. While no one ever truly forgets, many find healing through advocacy and by reaching out to help others. Their mission is to empower individuals to provide support, promote mental wellness education, and prevent further losses. Recognizing that fear and uncertainty often inhibit action, IN2K offers practical facts and tools for everyone, including tattoo artists training, regardless of their professional background.
Free and Accessible: IN2K provides free suicide prevention training as part of its mental wellness education initiative, ensuring all tattoo artists can engage without financial constraints.
Education on Signs and Risks: The program encompasses essential indicators of suicidal ideation, risk factors, and behaviors that might indicate a need for support.
Guidance for Intervention: Tattoo artists training includes strategies on how to approach sensitive conversations, offer reassurance, and connect clients with professional resources.
Community Support: IN2K cultivates a supportive environment where artists are encouraged to look out for each other and their clients, enhancing safety and well-being within the tattoo community.
The goal of IN2K is to create a ripple effect of awareness and intervention throughout the tattoo industry. By providing mental wellness education and empowering tattoo artists through training, IN2K enables them to become valuable allies in suicide prevention. Through vigilance, support, and connecting people to help, the program makes it possible for lives to be saved—one conversation and one tattoo at a time.

Yes, IN2K suicide prevention training can be customized to address the distinct challenges and strengths of any group. This program provides education for individuals of all backgrounds and knowledge levels on identifying signs of distress, understanding risk factors, and offering sensitive support to clients who may require assistance.
The program is open to anyone interested in helping prevent suicides in their communities, with no cost or required background. This training can be tailored for compassionate individuals aged 13 and up. Individuals under 16 should attend with an adult.
The training covers key indicators of suicidal ideation, risk factors, behaviors signaling a need for support, guidance on approaching conversations, and steps to connect clients with professional resources.
The training teaches participants—regardless of their background or profession—to recognize signs of distress, understand risk factors, and learn appropriate ways to intervene by connecting individuals at risk with licensed professionals. It is not designed to turn anyone into a mental health expert or professional, nor are participants expected to be experts after completing the program. Instead, this training is intentionally created for non-professionals and serves as a foundation for lifelong awareness and engagement in suicide prevention.
Yes, A Beautiful Mind is committed to supporting groups as they put their training into action. We offer consultations to help you connect your community with valuable resources, provide guidance and support to those who have intervened, and ensure access to professional therapeutic services for anyone interested in beginning counseling.
