Together with her husband, Patrick Cummings, she opened the practice in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2018 and in 2021 expanded to Patrick’s childhood stomping grounds in Hardin County, Tennessee. They feel blessed to serve communities in both Nevada and Tennessee, two states facing a growing shortage of licensed therapists.
Suanna Kay Cummings serves as Clinical Director & State Clinical Supervisor at A Beautiful Mind, where she helps turn hope into a plan—and healing into something clients and clinicians can build together.
With more than 20 years in education as a teacher, school counselor, and ALE Assistant Director, and over 10 years as a licensed therapist and clinical trauma professional, Suanna brings deep experience, steady leadership, and compassionate care to clients of all ages, backgrounds, and needs.
Suanna views therapy as a collaborative process rooted in goals, strengths, solutions, and practical tools, and she is committed to providing the highest quality care and support to A Beautiful Mind clients and staff. She has built a practice where all are welcomed, heard, and valued, and she guides her clinical team with the same mission she brings to client care: creating a safe, therapeutic environment where people feel supported, empowered, and ready to grow.
Suanna also specializes in grief and loss, with a particular focus on supporting families after the loss of a child. While she is not currently accepting ongoing clients, she is available for immediate support at the time of loss or during a crisis.

Kara Harrison is the kind voice on the other end of the phone and often the first step toward feeling supported at A Beautiful Mind. As our Client Care Administrator, she knows reaching out can feel like a big first step. Kara takes time to make scheduling, answering billing questions, and finding the right therapist feel calm, clear, and reassuring.
Kara brings strong organization, management experience, and genuine compassion to every conversation. Her 13 years of experience in dental and mental health settings helped shape the patience, kindness, and attention to detail she brings to our practice. Outside the office, Kara enjoys family time, traveling, and being outdoors.
We are grateful to have her as part of our team as A Beautiful Mind continues to grow and serve both Tennessee and Nevada. In every interaction, Kara is committed to protecting client privacy with care, professionalism, and respect.
